Oftentimes, when people travel, one of their top priorities or one of the things on their “to-do” list is to shop. Whether it is to find items that don’t exist where they live or to find a great bargain it is often an important aspect to vacationing. Therefore, if you are coming to Oistins Barbados finding the best places to shop is important. While staying in the small town of Oistins there is a small shopping centre that provides groceries, banking needs, and some tourist shops but large scale shopping happens outside of the town. There are major shopping centres around the island and for this blog I will be speaking to the three major shopping centres in proximity to Oistins starting from the closest to the furthest.

The closest major shopping centre to Oistins is the Sheraton shopping centre. It is one of the largest shopping centres on the island with over 115 stores and services including a food court and a movie theatre. The mall is centrally located on the South Coast, only a few minutes from St. Lawrence Gap, with ample free parking and late shopping until 9pm, Monday through Saturday.

This mall is more of a regular shopping centre where you can go and buy the things you need for everyday life. It is much like the small shopping centre in Oistins, yet this shopping centre offers more variety in stores and the shopping experience overall. On the other hand, if you are looking for shopping that is on the more expensive side but are still looking to get a deal on trendy items, there are other places that will give you what you are looking for.

When it comes to duty free shopping in the Oistins area, Cave Shepherd is the main spot where people go to shop. There are multiple locations across the island with the main/flagship location being in Bridgetown. It is the largest department store within the Caribbean and offers a large product range which includes perfume and cosmetics, beachwear, souvenirs, music and movies, jewelry and accessories, menswear, ladies wear, children’s wear, shoes, housewares, gifts, kitchen appliances, furniture, and electronics. When it comes to looking for souvenirs, alcohol, cigars and other daily living needs at duty free prices this is the place to go to.

Cave Shepherd has nine locations across the island of Barbados with the flagship store being on Broad street in Bridgetown. You can also find locations inside Grantley Adams Airport and in the previously mentioned Sheraton Mall. You can find a map for all of the locations here . While some high end shopping can be done here you will get the most bang for your buck if you go to the final shopping centre, Limegrove.

If you are looking to do some high-end shopping this is the place to do so. Located in Holetown, St. James parish (a more high-end area) you can find many of the high-end stores across the world located in this one area. This is the best place to shop in Barbados, offering an unmatched selection of luxury and duty-free jewellery, apparel and accessories. The mall features more than 100,000 square feet of some of the world’s leading retail brands such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Longchamp, Hugo BOSS, M.A.C., Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Cartier as well as many specialty retailers.

Limegrove is located 25 km from the Grantley Adams International Airport and 11 km from the Cruise Terminal. There are different options on how to get to Limegrove mall.
