COVID-19 Cleaning Measures/Travel Considerations

Island greetings!

In order to respond to COVID-19, we have updated our cleaning procedures to comply with the Barbados government cleaning regulations as well as Airbnb's cleaning measures. They include:

  1. Only using disinfectants approved by global health agencies
  2. Each room is cleaned extensively
  3. All high touch surfaces are sanitized (eg. doorknobs, cabinets & light switches)
  4. The cleaning staff wears protective equipment while cleaning
  5. We will provide extra cleaning supplies
We are committed to ensuring all guests have a safe and pleasant stay while abroad on vacation. We will ensure that all precautions are made so guest feel the space is clean and sanitized.

Entry Into Barbados Requirements

You can see the full travel protocols on Barbadostravelprotocols.com as they are continually updated, but we summarize them below as of today and attached here the full pdf for your reference:

1. All arriving passengers will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 PCR antigen test within 72 hours of travel or be tested on arrival in Barbados.

2. Arriving passengers must complete their Embarking/Disembarkation (ED) form online 24 hours prior to travel – travelform.gov.bb .

3. Travelers who do not have a negative test and do not opt for immediate local testing will not be allowed to enter Barbados .

4. Once your test is validated and you are permitted to proceed to your accommodation, the protocols for further monitoring or testing depend on the risk level of your country of origin. To view your country's "risk category." See the section on Assessing Country Risk.

Passengers from low-risk countries can either arrive with a negative test result or will be tested on arrival, but will not be subject to monitoring thereafter . Passengers from medium risk countries will follow the same protocol and in addition will be subject to monitoring by the Ministry of Health for a period of between 7 and 14 days, which may include periodic visits from the Ministry of Health to monitor symptoms.

Again following the same arrival protocols, passengers from high-risk countries will be permitted to proceed directly to the accommodation and monitored in the same way as persons from medium risk countries will be, but in addition, they will be required to have a second test done within 7 days of arrival before monitoring is discontinued assuming the test is negative.

As of yesterday, we are also aware that given the situation in the US, that the current protocol for US arrivals is being reviewed and it is possible that a 7-day quarantine in an approved facility may be put in place. We are awaiting confirmation and further details but we are led to believe that this quarantine can be served at a villa with some restrictions on staff in the villa.

It is important to note that in all cases, persons who test positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to remain in their home or accommodation and will be taken to isolation in a government facility pending recovery . Release from isolation is not permitted until two consecutive negative tests are received.
